Flight Log - 2015-03-28 - Matthew Bond's Estes Super Alpha

A plus sized version of the venerable Alpha, built around a BT-60 body tube.

This rocket was one of three that I constructed in a hotel in Tucson, AZ while on a business trip and was flown at the annual 2 day Desert Heat launch put on by the Southern Arizona Rocketry Association.

Flight Date: 2015-03-28
Rocket Name: Estes Super Alpha
Kit Name: Estes - Super Alpha {Kit} (3216)
Flyer's Name: Matthew Bond
Motors: C6-5
Wind Speed: 2.00 mph
Launch Site: Desert Heat 2015

Second flight of the Super Alpha, and a nice repeat of the pattern of the day.  Nice smooth boost, good chute deployment near apogee, minimal drift, although it did seem to hang up in a thermal for a bit.  Relatively short walk, landed on the edge of the field with no damage.
