Approx 1/2 scale of Dyna Stars "Snarky". Kit bashed from Baby Bertha. Bottom tube is paper towel roll cut to shape and all grooves filled with HobbyLite. Swapped out the Baby Bertha NC as well for a Prowler NC because I didn't like look or flight with Baby Bertha NC (built originally as a Goony Bird).
Flight Date: | 2015-06-20 |
Rocket Name: | Snarky Jr. |
Kit Name: | DynaStar - Snarky {Kit} (05030) |
Flyer's Name: | Steve Lindeman |
Motors: | C6-5 |
Wind Speed: | 3.00 mph |
Launch Site: | JMRC-M.I.S./Graves Farm Campground |
I've been wanting to drag race these two for some time. They both left the pad at about the same time but Jr. bent into the wind and as a result did not get the altitude it should have. In spite of this it stayed airborne longer and took longer to descend than its big brother. No damage on recovery but a much longer walk than normal to retrieve.
On a side note: I have always flown this rocket on a B6-4 in the past with no problems so it may be that the C6-5 was to much motor. May have to add additional nose weight for C flights (currently have 16g. of clay in nose).
