Biography:

I started in rocketry back in the 80's, launching (and losing) many Mosquitos. As is the common tale, I discovered girls and my interest in rockets waned. Then, I got married had a kid...and at the age of 37 came back to rockets.

Patriothan

Flight

Beautiful green flames shot the Patriothan up FAST! Definitely the best flight out of this rocket to date. Despite 1600 feet of altitude, the rocket came down less than 100 yards away. PERFECT - G76-7G - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

Patriothan

Flight

HUGE blast of black smoke shot out of the black jack motor and off Patriothan went. Slight weather cocking despite a lack of winds, mostly due to the lower thrust of the Black Jack and the added ballast of the camera. Still, landed within 50 yards. GREAT flight - G53-7FJ - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

Patriothan

Flight

Simply awesome! The Leviathan belched bright flames and tore off the pad with a scream. The rocket came down on the gravel parking lot and dinged up a fin, but I should be able to get it to flight status relatively soon. - G76W-7 reload - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

Patriothan

Flight

Awesome flight. This rocket loves G's! Big flame shooting out of the back, lot's of white smoke and that characteristic roar of the White Lightning..awesome! - G40W-7 - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

BT-60 Viking Upscale

Flight

Maiden flight. The rocket looked great going up, straight flight path on the D15 Blue Thunder. We heard the pop of the ejection charge, but the nose cone never separated...later inspection found an incorrectly installed delay grain to be the issue. The rocket entered a horizontal tumble and came ... [More]

Ventris

Flight

Ventris lifted off the pad in an impressive cloud of black smoke and went straight up. It seems that the 24 inch parachute that Estes includes might be a tad on the small side. Everything worked flawlessly, but the rocket still came down a bit fast and did some damage to one of the spirals on the ... [More]

SLUF (Short Little Ugly Fella)

Flight

Another perfect flight for the SLUF on E28s. This rocket just loves em! Straight up like a bat outta hell. 4 seconds seems a perfect delay for this motor, chute pops right as it starts to nose down. - E28-4T - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

Ventris

Flight

Ventris lifted about 2 feet off the pad, and a loud "POP" came from the rocket and the nose cone and laundry came spilling out. Motor casing had split in half. Yet another Pro Series II motor failure. - F50-6T - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]

SLUF (Short Little Ugly Fella)

Flight

First launch of SLUF on a composite reload. WOW! SLUF sat and smoked for a minute and then just disappeared! Nice loud launch, angled rod slightly to launch into light wind. Absolutely perfect flight, recovered SLUF about 70 feet from the pad....if rockets had emotions, SLUF would have had a huge ... [More]

Vagabond

Flight

Loaded a E28T-4 into Vagabond. Screamed off the pad. Seriously underestimated the power of the E28. If there were any winds, rocket would have easily been lost along with my reloadable case - E28T-4 - 60 Acres, Redmond WA [More]
