Flight Log - 2018-03-10 - K Sonesen's Goblin 5.5

This is a Polecat Aerospace kit featuring fiberglass nose cone and fiberglass wrapped body tube.  54mm motor tube can be adapted with Aeropack fixture to 38mm. 54mm Aeropack motor retainer is used. No nose weight was added or needed per kit instructions. I created an altimeter bay in the nose cone and planned to use the Cable Cutter for main deploy but have heard there are reliability problems.  The Jolly Logic Chute Release is my preferred solution now for the main deploy.

Flight Date: 2018-03-10
Rocket Name: Goblin 5.5
Kit Name: Polecat Aerospace - Goblin (5.5") {Kit}
Flyer's Name: K Sonesen
Motors: J420-9
Expected Altitude: 2,000 Feet
Certification Flight: Level 2
Wind Speed: 4.00 mph
Launch Site: LUNAR - Snow Ranch
Actual Altitude: 2,089 Feet

This was my L2 certification flight. A wind gust hit my rocket near apogee and caused an arcing flight instead of the normal staright up flight pattern. This resulted in a long retrieval hike. A successful flight other than that.
