Flight Log - 2012-06-17 - Chris S.'s LOC Big Nuke XL

This Rocket is has an additional 18" extension and stands 8 ft tall.  It is built with G10 fins and is set up for dual deployment (with stratologger altimeters).

Flight Date: 2012-06-17
Rocket Name: LOC Big Nuke XL
Flyer's Name: Chris S.
Motors: K700
Expected Altitude: 5,700 Feet
Wind Speed: 14.00 mph
Launch Site: Plant City, FL
Actual Altitude: 5,711 Feet

Second launch on a K700W - - - beautiful flight with very similar resuts as last month (apogee at 5.711).  I set the main at 500 ft to compensate for the wind.  Unfortunately, it drifted quite a bit on the decent; even without a drogue chute.  The Big Nuke ended up in a tree about 60 feet in the air.  Fortunately, I was able to get it down by using a slingshot, kite string, and rope.  Very minimal damage.
