This kit features a short aluminum tube added to the motor mount to protect the Kevlar string from the motor mount and secure in the rear of the rocket. This, along with epoxy securing everything including the card stock centering rings, probably improves the entire unit.
Not sure where Chan's "minor zipper" occurred, but assume it was at the top of the body tube. Another BT-60 coupler has been added to the new kits to strengthen that lip. Chan Stevens is given credit in the new addendum to the kit. Would like to know if this has solved any issues for you.
