1960's National Association of Rocketry "Space Age Hobby" Promotional Film

This color video was recorded from an original 16mm film belonging to John Roe (NAR#33) who appears in these shoots with his father William S. Roe (NAR#13), one of the founders of the National Association of Rocketry along with G. Harry Stine who got us kids flying rockets in the age of Sputnik. I was 13 at the time (NAR#896), attended NARAM2 (Denver) and NARAM3 (Colorado Springs). 50 years later I was the Contest Director of NARAM52 to pay forward the role that Bill Roe had in my life. Model Rocketry began in Colorado. See also Peakcity.org
